Her experience includes teaching American, British, Atlantic, and world history classes at the secondary and university levels. She has previously taught at the University of Notre Dame, University of Missouri-Columbia, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, and Aurora University. Dr. Banke received her PhD in early American history from the University of Notre Dame with a dissertation entitled \u201cBute\u2019s Empire: Reform, Reaction, and the Roots of Imperial Crisis.\u201d&nbsp; She also recently published a chapter entitled \u201cThe Ideology of Imperial Reform: Enlightened Absolutism and the American Colonies\u201d in <em>Ireland and America: Empire,
